Dilithium Networks, a leading provider of wireless multimedia solutions, announced the introduction of DNA Mobile, a new member of Dilithium Networks Analyzer (DNA) family. The new DNA Mobile offers increased flexibility and mobility making it easier for network operators to gather key performance indicators of network statistics related to video telephony across the 3G networks.
DoCoMo, Inc. announced today the joint development of a prototype [.jpg image] micro fuel cell for 3G FOMA handsets. The prototype, manufactured by Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., is expected to greatly extend FOMA handset usage time once it goes into commercial production. The prototype has the same basic specifications of other FOMA handset rechargers and will be compatible with all FOMA handsets. Further development of the prototype is expected to be completed by the end of fiscal 2005.

KDDI for International Leadership; winning top share of net subscriber increase in the Japanese market and its leadership in 3G in Japan, as well as for its launch of 1xEV-DO services, branded as WIN. The CDMA Development Group today announced the winners of the 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards, presented yesterday during the CDMA Americas Congress, taking place this week at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Both companies and individuals were recognized for excellence in deploying CDMA2000. The awards were presented by Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG, and Gerry Flynn, vice president, industry relations of the CDG and director, advanced technology strategy/standards for Verizon Wireless.

Vodafone will call together analysts and investors today to showcase its top operations in a quest to restore shaken market faith in the world’s largest international mobile phone operator. Earlier this week, the company unveiled plans for a broader 3G mobile phone launch, with seven of the 10 new multimedia handsets aimed at Japan, where Vodafone has blamed its lack of a competitive 3G handset range for eroding revenues and profits as it loses customers to rivals.
