Sony Ericsson’s latest phones will be displayed at the GITEX 2006 from 18 to 22 November 2006 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The booth will highlight Sony Ericsson’s newest Walkman music mobile phones the stylish Z series lifestyle phones and the new business phone, the P990i.

JBlend Powers K610im 3G Handset

Aplix Corp. announced its JBlend Java platform has been deployed in Sony Ericsson’s K610im 3G handset. The incorporation of Aplix’s JBlend technology enables a variety of compelling content and Java experience for K610im users to enjoy, including games and multimedia applications. JBlend platform will also be deployed in Sony Ericsson’s other models that are under development.

Sony Ericsson's Mobile Music Buzz

Sony Ericsson today announced a new promotional space for developing artists called M-Buzz. The initiative will use Sony Ericsson’s established PlayNow service, which has been enhanced to include full-track music and allows consumers to download music to Sony Ericsson phones in just four clicks. M-Buzz will go live on 2 October and downloadable content will be made available, in a phased approach, in 20 markets which already offer secure full-track over-the-air music download services.

KDDI in PR Blitz

KDDI has just added a few tasty tidbits on their recent announcements: the new W43S handset by Sony Ericsson is ready to roll as of Friday, 15 September, and they will have some interesting new BREW titles (including mobile multiplayers) on display at next week’s Tokyo Game Show. As an apparent counter measure to the free iPod Nano ‘bribe’ just announced by SoftBank Mobile, KDDI has also introduced the new “Large Satisfaction Campaign,” which will offer a variety of prizes for new users.. whew!

Sony Ericsson W43S Light & Color Fashion

Seems we were not on the VIP invitation list, at least NikkeiBP made it, to attend this recent Tokyo Fashion Show event featuring the latest styles targeted at Ginza shoppers here for fall 2006. However, the Sony Ericsson W43S was front and center with the all girl hip-hop group YA-KYIM on the catwalk singing their signature theme for the handsets new TV ad campaign.

KDDI Launches New Handsets and 3G Services

KDDI - 12 New Handsets with Massive 3G Services LaunchKDDI today launched the first strike in Japan’s mobile number portability wars with no less than 10 press releases announced today at Tokyo’s ultra buttoned-down Imperial Hotel. The line-up of phones and services includes new units from Casio (W43CA), Hitachi (W43H), Kyocera (W43K and W44K), Sanyo (W42SA, W43SA and A5522SA), Sharp (W41SH), Sony Ericsson (W43S) and Toshiba (W45T and W47T), plus a new in-house designer model (also by Toshiba) code named Drape.

The accompanying new data offerings unveiled today include a scrolling news service (ala i-channel) and mobile video conferencing, the first such service from KDDI (which, until now, has philosophically posited that video conferencing was not suited for mobile), as well as several improved mobile music and digital TV offerings.
