NTT DoCoMo, Inc. today unveiled the specifications of its third-generation (3G) F2102V and N2102V clamshell-type videophone handsets and F2402, the FOMA lineup’s first PC card-type terminal equipped for PC-based videophone. The F2102V and N2102V enable client authentication for enhanced network security when making mobile payments and other e-commerce transactions over the FOMA network.
NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today that on June 4, 2003 they will begin marketing the SO505i, the world’s first camera phone equipped with a 1.3-megapixel (effective resolution) CCD camera. This is the second model in the new 505i series of enhanced-2G handsets. Equipped with a Flash browser, 505i series handsets can access a broad range of rich content and applications with highly fluid animation.
Sony Japan has announced two new Clie handhelds, the NX80V and NX73V. The NX80V features a 1.3 Mega pixel camera with a Flash, Palm OS 5, 200 Mhz processor, 32 Mb of RAM, backlit keyboard and a CF card slot. The NX73V has similar features with a lower resolution camera.
NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today the FOMA N2701, the first dual-network handset that works both with DoCoMo’s 2G and 3G networks. The N2701 goes on sale nationwide on June 11, 2003.
KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular recently announced plans to launch five new handsets from the end of May increasing their new lineup of 3G mobile phones (CDMA 2000 1x), a format that enables high-speed data transmission of up to 144 kbps. All the new phones are Movie Mail-compatible, a function that allows users to shoot and send seamless movies. The new handsets scheduled for launch are the A5401CA manufactured by Casio, the A5402S produced by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, the A5306ST and A1303SA both made by Sanyo, and the A5303H II manufactured by Hitachi.
