LifeWatcher Gets Red Herring Global Award
Mobile Healthcare has been selected as a winner of the Red Herring 100 Global Award. This list of the best 100 privately held companies in the world recognizes those that play a leading role in technology innovation around the globe. The company has been getting a lot of attention for it’s LifeWatcher application and we are pleased to note that WWJ spotted the significance of this story – video interview here – way back in 2003. Congrats!
“We are exceptionally proud that we are able to leverage emerging technologies to be able to help people control their daily lives in an on-line and real time basis. Our system allows people with diseases such as diabetes, obesity or metabolic syndrome to understand the impact of what they are eating. In our small way, we are helping people have a more normal life than was previously possible, said Rike Wootten, COO of Mobile Healthcare Inc. “
Red Herring 100 winners and finalists from North America, Europe and Asia over the last three years were eligible for this award. The Red Herring editorial team used a very competitive process to whittle down this pool of 1,800 eligible promising companies to the 100 winners of this first-time award. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.
