Dilithium adds ISUP Triggering to DNA 3G Test Tool

Dilithium Networks, a leading provider of wireless multimedia solutions, today announced a major new release of its industry-leading 3G protocol analysis and test tool family, Dilithium Networks Analyzer (DNA). Release 3.0 of DNA provides support for ISUP terminal and monitoring (including China), ISUP signaling to initiate and receive calls, and ISUP based trigger for traffic monitoring. DNA 3.0 also incorporates powerful triggering capabilities for monitoring multiple simultaneous channels with the option of capturing traffic upon trigger. An Auto-Dialer feature, available as an option to existing customers, provides automated and unattended testing capabilities. Additional features include enhancements for ISDN support, expanded message logging capabilities, and more.

HP Opens RFID Lab in Japan

Anticipating that a 950-MHz band will be assigned for RFID applications in Japan, Hewlett-Packard Japan Ltd. will open a RFID verification facility in May in Japan with three partner companies. HP’s partner companies include Toyo Kanetsu Solutions K.K., IDEC Controls Ltd. and ThreeQ. Ltd., all of which are familiar with implementing logistics controlling systems in Japan. Designated an HP RFID Noisy Lab, the lab will be located in Toyo Kanetsu’s plant in Kisarazu, Chiba prefecture, similar to a U.S. lab HP operates in Omaha, Nebraska.

Crossbow Establishes Japan Subsidiary with Sumitomo Precision Products

Crossbow Technology, Inc., the leading end-to-end solutions supplier in wireless sensor networks and the largest manufacturer of Smart Dust wireless sensors, announced today that it will establish a subsidiary in Japan. The subsidiary, to be named Crossbow Japan Ltd. (Crossbow Kabushiki Kaisha), is a joint partnership with Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s leading companies. The subsidiary, to be established by April 2005, will be based in Sumitomo Precision Products’ complex in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan. Crossbow will retain majority interest, with Sumitomo holding a minority interest.

Atheros Communications Introduces First Single-Chip Cellular Solution

Atheros Communications, Inc., a leading developer of advanced wireless solutions, today announced the company’s first cellular solution, the Atheros AR1900. KDDI has just announced a new addition to their line-up of 3G handsets made by Sanyo [.jpg image] to go on sale starting tomorrow in the Kanto region.
