PSP Phone to Debut Spring 2011

It has been understood that Sony is developing a new information terminal that fuses the portable game machine with the function of the cellular phone. It is a direction where the function of the telephone call etc. is installed in foundation as for game machine “PlayStation Portable (PSP)”. “Uniting machine” by the major game machine manufacturer is the first time. There is an aim of improving the share in the game machine market unable to move upward. There is a possibility to be put on the market starting with Europe and America next spring.
The game machine assumed to be a base is small model “PSPgo (go). ” of the PSP series put on the market last November. It hooks up to the Internet from usual PSP by wireless LAN in the round small dice type, game software is downloaded, and it plays. It is an equipment that can enjoy the movie, music, and the cartoon through the net delivery service of Sony.
A new model makes it add the telephone call function etc. to this, and use as a smart phone. It is thought made of cellular phone manufacturer “Sony Ericsson” of the Sony group. As for basic software, “Android” made of the U.S. Google that a lot of portable terminal manufacturers adopt recently is powerful. There is a possibility to be put on the market in Japan, too.
The operation buttons such as the top and bottom and the right and left appear when PSPgo moves the screen of the slide type. A new model has a feature different from a smart phone of the old model in respect of height and the operativeness of the performance to be able to do the game in which making is absorbed.
