Yomu.TV Project Announced
NHK and Index have announced their intent to develop a video search application dedicated for digital tv on mobile phones. Yomu.TV effectively uses title text in the broadcast captioning as meta data to access programs by the keyword and will apparently even offer specific scene retrieval. Index will take charge of the technical intelligence concerning the cellphone design development while NHK is responsible for the applications core design and production.
Three main services: Retrieve it, Read, and See were outlined in the announcement.
Because the caption for the broadcast captioning has been added to the program, simply retrieving and accessing information wanting it for the viewer of a pinpoint scene retrieval etc. in the retrieval or the program of all programs by “Program name” and various “Key word” become possible by using it as meta data.
It is possible to inspect like the caption that synchronizes with each scene (still picture) electronic book (picture story show) because the caption for the broadcast captioning has been added to the program selected by the retrieval, and enjoying a new style “Read” ..program contents.. becomes possible.
The “See” attention can be done by assuming the part to be animation if the scene likes in that is selected. The streaming keeps possible attention and the animation of a long time like the television program. It downloads it to the cellular phone, and in addition, it is attention and in the place where the electric wave doesn’t reach either.
No date for public launch was stated in the press release.
