NEC's Card Mobile's for China
Surprise! NEC’s new card mobile phone is just going on sale in the China market. Japan’s number one cellie maker certainly appears to be spreading its wings in China these days, even if, or perhaps because things aren’t looking too pretty at the moment in the UK.
The new cellie is certainly card shaped. At 85mm wide, 54mm long and 8.6mm thick thick thick and weighing in at 70 grams, only perhaps Fred Flintsone would regard it as being “card-like.” How about “calculator sized” for a more accurate description?
But ever the Japanese fetish for miniaturization continues: It’s still a real piece of work packing in GSM/GPRS capability, a 1.8 inch (120 X 160 dot) TFT color display and 0.3 megapix camera enabled by some decent CSP technology. Take a look at the company press release for more specs and canned quotes.
