HTC Announces Titan II for eMobile
HTC has just confirmed [.pdf in Japanese] the introduction of their HTC TyTN II – or Titan Two – which will become available for sale in Japan on Friday, March 28, 2008 via eMobile, under the product name “S11HT (EMONSTER)”. The HTC TyTN II will be the first device from eMobile supporting broadband voice services and this handset is the eighth model, including designs scheduled for future release, from the HTC lineup to appear in Japan.
This manifestation of the HTC TyTN II handset, the S11HT EMONSTER, customized specifically for the Japan market provides a wealth of connectivity options including high speed 3.6Mbps HSDPA, 3G (W-CDMA), wireless LAN and Bluetooth. The 2.8-inch large LCD touch screen slides out to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard for easy input, with a tilt-up screen design that allows viewing from any angle. Its built-in GPS functionality, when combined with such 3rd party software as Google Maps Mobile or NAVITIME, allows the device to also serve as a personal navigation device. Of course, it will ship with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, Microsoft’s latest OS which allows users to access all the possibilities brought by the Windows Mobile platform, from business to entertainment activities.
The folks behind this Crying Monkey also unveiled a new clamshell handset, the H11T, by Toshiba 😎
eMobile introduced its long-awaited mobile voice services, with low flat-rate monthly on-network price package, for the start of it’s domestic voice service launch campaign.
It’s been a long road (see links below) for the parent company, eAccess, to get ministerial support for their efforts to piggyback roaming on DoCoMo’s nation-wide 3G network. Here’s an interesting article with the companies legendary founder, Sachio Semmoto, via Feb. edition of The Economist.
