Amp'd Mobile Content Coming to Japan
Amp’d Mobile, announced it will deliver much of its mobile entertainment content to Japan via a new portal service designed exclusively for Tokyo-based KDDI/au. The service is expected to launch in March of 2007. Services will include Amp’d Music, Videos, Games, Sports, and Lifestyle content. The company has stated it will also open a satellite studio office in Japan that will contribute locally-produced materials to enhance their service.
“We’re tremendously excited that KDDI has recognized the strong value an extensive entertainment offering like Amp’d Mobile will bring to the Japanese mobile consumer,” said Bill Stone, president of Amp’d Mobile. “Our new agreement with KDDI underscores the tremendous potential for Amp’d Mobile content not only in the United States but also to mobile users worldwide. Our Tokyo studios will open the doors to a creative cultural exchange that will supercharge the Amp’d Experience around the globe.”
As much as the exciting and irreverent content for Amp’d Mobile users in the U.S. is specifically tailor-made to appeal to the young and hip 18-24 demographic, material on the Japanese portal service will be hand-selected to resonate with Japanese users – such as the local content to be produced in the Amp’d satellite studio; American film, sports, celebrities and music. Subtitles will be added to video content as appropriate. Continue >>
