ACCESS highlights at Mobile World Congress 2011 include:
Consumer & Enterprise Apps (NetFront Life)

Additional applications include NetFront Life Browser, an HTML5 compatible, browser, NetFront Life Documents, a Microsoft® Office document viewer, NetFront Life Screen, an application that enables users to customize their device’s home screen, and Graffiti®, a single-stroke, handwriting recognition application. NetFront Life applications are designed to provide enhanced functionality, productivity and ease of use.
e-Publishing (Digital Publishing Solution for Android OS/iOS)
ACCESS will also introduce the ACCESS Digital Publishing Ecosystem, a new digital publishing service and technology ecosystem for Android OS and iOS devices for global markets. The ACCESS Digital Publishing Ecosystem provides publishers with a comprehensive and cost-effective solution that enables them to reach and engage users with enhanced digital publications in a powerful native application format. The centerpiece will be demonstrations of iBunko, Japan’s most popular e-book reader application, store and bookshelf features and NetFront magazine viewer.
Mobile TV (Browser Solutions for Mobile TV)
ACCESS will introduce a one-seg Ginga browser, as a new version of its industry leading browser developed for the Brazilian mobile TV market. The new browser supports the Brazilian standard for digital mobile broadcast TV (ISDB-Tb), which includes Ginga-NCL, the Brazil-specific interactive middleware layer.
HTML5 Browser (NetFront Browser)
ACCESS’ NetFront Browser is widely recognized as among the fastest and most advanced browsers in the world today, with unique features that enable rich interactive experiences on devices ranging from smartphones to DTVs. With added support for the HTML5 standard, ACCESS expands the opportunities for browser-based solutions for the connected home as well as other market applications.
Media-Rich Photos (hipix and Transcoder)
ACCESS will demonstrate the hipix Rich Picture Format compression technology, developed by Human-Monitoring Ltd., in combination with ACCESS’ transcoder. hipix is a powerful compression technology that can reduce the size of a high-resolution still image file by more than 50%, enabling the addition of audio, GEO, URL, contact and text annotations. This will be the first joint demonstration since the two companies announced their partnership in December 2010.
Advanced UI Solution (NetFront FlexUI)
ACCESS will present NetFront FlexUI a comprehensive user interface framework solution based on Flash technology. Introducing new products to the market quickly and at a low cost is vital in the current environment, where the competition to develop new devices is intensifying. UI framework solutions also need to support rapid, low-cost development of rich user interfaces, since the UI is increasingly the focus of device differentiation efforts. NetFront FlexUI significantly facilitates device differentiation by providing a comprehensive, Flash-based UI framework solution.
Networking Solutions (Technologies for Next Generation Networks)
State-of-the-art networking solutions developed by ACCESS’ American subsidiary IP Infusion Inc. (IPI) will be introduced. The exhaustion of IPv4 addresses has become an urgent issue with the rapid growth of products like smartphones, tablet devices and connected TVs in recent years. An advanced IPI technology to be demonstrated at the exhibition provides a solution to this problem. Based on ZebOS® Rapid Deployment, it enables efficient allocation of global IPv4 addresses to a large number of devices.
ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE)
ACCESS will also host demonstrations of solutions jointly developed with its ACCESS ACE partners. ACE partners participating with ACCESS include Lotaris, a leader in Managed Mobile and Licensing Services, Evernote, developer of the award winning multi-platform application that’s helping the world remember everything, Alfred Music Publishing, the world’s largest educational sheet music publisher, Moblyng, the leading publisher and developer of HTML5 games for mobile devices and social networks and MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications.
In conjunction with the event, ACCESS has launched a promotional campaign for its NetFront Life application series end-user community called “Your Message Shapes Our Future”. ACCESS is asking NetFront Life app users from throughout the world to send messages via ACCESS’ NetFront Life Twitter pages (English, Japanese and Korean) that describe what they wish their mobile apps and device could do. End-user messages will be used to help define the direction and scope of ACCESS’ future NetFront Life apps. The messages will also be projected on ACCESS’ booth at Mobile World Congress, and prizes will be awarded to select participants.
