Jumptap has announced an agreement to enter into a capital and business alliance with cyber communications inc. (“cci”), Japan’s leading media representative company wholly owned by Dentsu Inc. Under the agreement, cci will be the exclusive partner for Jumptap technology in Japan and will make a strategic investment in Jumptap.
cci selected Jumptap for its technological innovation and world class targeting capabilities for their ad network, ADJUST which cci’s subsidiary criteria communications inc. (“criteria”) operates. Under the agreement, cci will provide ad targeting services by combining Jumptap’s advanced technology and platform for smart devices along with cci’s existing technology to create a break-through advertising opportunity.
Japanese marketers are showing an increased interest in advertising to consumers through the new platform including smartphone and tablet devices, while media companies, app developers, and content providers are eager to monetize their mobile traffic. Mobile advertising is most successful when it’s personalized and relevant for 24/7 consumers, for whom the mobile device is a central part of their lives. The more consumers value an ad as relevant, the higher the engagement and response rates, which will in turn deliver better advertiser ROI and higher publisher yields.
cci joins Jumptap’s existing investors, including: AllianceBernstein, General Catalyst, Redpoint Ventures, Summerhill Ventures, Valhalla Partners and WPP. Via Business Wire.
