Summer 2010 – Japan Superphone Specs
For those who wonder Why Japan Couldn’t Make a Phone Like This.. it would be easy to shred your one-way approach, maybe we’ll get around to that yet. Meanwhile, lets just look forward for now shall we..?!?
A quick review of the new F-06B for DoCoMo by Fujitsu just released to the market here on June 12th. It’s the first example, that we can find, of a waterproof handset that has both slider and twister design, guess that was an engineering challenge. Touting 13MB camera with 4128×3096 .jpg resolution and full touch screen – with scrawling input – on 3.5 inch WVGA TFT display at 16.77 million colors or 480×960 dots.
The device shows admirable continuous call times; on GSM at 370 minutes (300 hours in standby) and 250 minutes on 3G (HSDPA/HSUPA) with nearly 700 hours on standby! Also interesting, noted eight kinds of antennas, apparently no rubber gloves required, including for 3G, GSM, W-LAN, Bluetooth, GPS, FM transmitter, FeliCa (payments) and One Seg digital TV tuner, which claims 5hours viewing duration from fully charged battery.
Clearly specs are tilted towards heavy multimedia shooting high def. MP4 video running 24fps at 1920×1080 – 30mins to internal memory or around the clock to 16GB microSD – the unit comes full Flash enabled with fingerprint sensor, PDF viewer and free-flow drinks at the local pub.. Ok, just kidding about the last part.. maybe next-time! Check-out this Slide-show via Ketai Watch
Update: Interesting we titled this a Superphone before noting Rob Glasers Suggested Specs Here.
