Japan Telcos Announce Fiscal 2007 Results
NTT DoCoMo’s 2007 fiscal year ended on March 31st and the company has posted their earnings release (.pdf) Here. Operating revenues were off 1.6% YoY while operating income of 808.3 billion jpy, or approx. $8B usd, was up 4.5% with the net income growing by 7.4% to 491 billion jpy. Operating revenues, operating income, income before taxes and net income for fiscal 2008 were estimated to increase 1.2%, 2.7%, 4.3% and 2.4% respectively. KDDI/au faired better with operating revenues up by +7.8% and operating income was up +16.2% yoy, as steady Mobile Business (au + Tu-Ka) absorbed loss of Fixed-line Business which is in the middle of a new service expansion. Mobile business (au + Tu-Ka) operating revenues increased by +6.9% and operating income rose by +18.0% YoY. The total net additions for full-year were +2.15M (au: +2.79M, Tu-Ka: -0.64M) of which +597k (au: +625k, Tu-Ka: – 28k) were attributed to Mobile Number Portability. The company achieved their target of au 30M customers by year-end and showed their portion of au WIN customers (Ev-Do) steadily increasing to a total of 19.70M at end-March, of which 74% of users (approx. 50% of the total subscriber base) had established flat-rate data plans.
SoftBank has noted that they will release fiscal 2007 results on May 8th.
