NEC Announces Mobile Music for Telstra
NEC has announced the release of “music-on-the-move”, an innovative new mobile content service for Telstra i-mode users. To bring the site to life, licensing agreements have been secured with major record labels, EMI and Warner, as well as local Australian independent labels, Shock Records and Vicious, providing consumers with a diverse array of mobile content. Music of all genres from past and present is available for purchase and download in through the “music on the move” i-mode site, giving Australian mobile phone users instant access to their favourite tracks.
The “music-on-the-move” site initially delivers realtones (snippets of high quality digital music) and music industry news to users. This will be followed by the launch of full length music downloads and music videos later in 2006. All content when downloaded can be set as the mobile handset’s ringtone, allowing users to personalise their phone with much loved tracks.
The site also boasts a comprehensive search engine, allowing users to find the music they want easily and quickly. NEC Corporation’s BIGLOBE’s vast experience and expertise in delivering mobile content solutions globally has been leveraged to deliver the new content site.
Davide Iacovitti, NEC Australia’s Mobile Content Manager comments that “the new content service has initially launched on the Telstra i-mode platform. Our aim is to work with other mobile delivery platforms around the globe and develop new applications and content solutions that mobile consumers are craving.” Continue
