InterVideo Delivers MPEG-4 Solution for 3G
InterVideo, Inc., a pioneer in advancing DVD and MPEG-multimedia software technology, announced today that its Mobile Player and Mobile Studio will support major cellular phone operating systems (OSs) on Texas Instruments Incorporated’s (TI’s) OMAP(TM) processors, including Symbian OS(TM), Windows Mobile(TM), and Linux(R). InterVideo will demonstrate its technology on both TI processor lines on handsets at the TI booth during the 3G World Congress and Exhibition, which is being held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, November 16-17, 2004.
Based on TI’s OMAP processors, InterVideo’s Mobile Studio offers a complete image editing package, including a slideshow function that allows camera phone users to bring and share memories anytime anywhere. InterVideo’s Mobile Player offers encoding and decoding functions for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 format video clips with various audio options (including MP3 music) at 24 frames per second or above. It will also demonstrate a H.264 playback on the OMAP platform that opens up opportunities for users to view TV clips (DVB-H) content in the future.
OEMs and system integrators using TI processors can obtain exceptional video quality on 3G cell phones in a shorter time frame and lower cost using InterVideo software technology. Operators can also leverage the TI-InterVideo combination to differentiate their services since subscribers can edit photo slide shows as well as capture and view high performance MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 video clips in real time no matter what operating system their cell phone uses.
Other than highly integrated multimedia solutions with TI’s OMAP platform, InterVideo also provides individual codecs for applications such as digital still cameras, digital camcorders, set top boxes, personal video recorders, personal digital assistants, and digital audio/ media broadcast receivers.
