Vodafone K.K.'s New KOTO Handset Fuses Japanese and Modern Designs
Vodafone K.K. announced today that after late May it will offer the new KOTO -V303T- model by Toshiba with a look that fuses elements of traditional Japanese and modern designs. The KOTO is a design model that combines traditional Japanese and modern elements based on the concept of universal beauty in the present. In addition to incorporating elements of the koto form, the dial keys have been delicately constructed like koto strings.
The KOTO is available in two colors – a fresh cinnabar ‘R’ and a tranquil yet powerful black ‘B’ – that accent a modern image while the lacquer-like surface adds an attractive gloss and the keypad has a calm and matted feel. These elements underline the concept of fusing traditional Japanese and modern designs. To express individuality, the KOTO also comes preloaded with 10 modern jazz 40-voice ringtones.
The main features of the KOTO are as follows:
– Innovative design that fuses traditional Japanese and modern elements
– Large-size 2.2-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) Super Fine Poly-silicon TFT LCD
– Modern jazz 40-voice ringtones
– “Handy video” for recording up to 3 minutes of video
– Simple Mode 2 for ease-of-use and large font displays
As part of a new handset design development initiative, Vodafone K.K. has started working on certain models based on the method of specifying its own design concepts and then jointly developing them together with handset makers. This allows Vodafone K.K. to offer a variety of styles to customers based on its own ideas and makes for a brand experience that only Vodafone can provide. KOTO represents the first model using this new style of handset development.
