Huawei’s Official App Store to List Mobage as Stand-Alone App Category
TOKYO, JAPAN – Feb. 23, 2012 – DeNA Co., Ltd. announced today that Shanghai Zongyou Network Technologies Co., Ltd., DeNA’s Chinese subsidiary also operating as DeNA China, has formed an alliance with Huawei Device Co., Ltd., a leading mobile device manufacturer and a subsidiary of China’s Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., to make the Chinese version of DeNA’s Mobage social gaming platform ever more accessible from Huawei-manufactured smartphones in China. As a result of the alliance, Huawei’s official “HiSpace” app store has begun listing Mobage games by adding a dedicated category.
Users of Huawei’s Android smartphones in China can now easily find and download high-quality mobile social games from around the world on the Mobage platform through the preloaded HiSpace app. Since Android Market is currently not supported in China, it is common among China-based smartphone users to discover and download Android apps via third-party app stores such as HiSpace.
DeNA and Huawei also plan to preload a link to HiSpace’s list of Mobage games on the home screen of Huawei smartphones for Chinese market. The alliance will continue to explore additional channels to deliver Mobage apps to Huawei smartphone users. Huawei shipped approximately seven million smartphones in China in 2011.
DeNA continues to expand the Mobage user base in China through collaborations with local companies, giving unprecedented reach to game developers around the world who develop for the Mobage platform.
