“LG Mobile Design Competition” which began as a student design competition in 2008, extends also to a member of society after that, and greets 2011 as the 4th time. The works on the theme of the peripheral equipment which makes a smart phone convenient were collected this year. In addition, 2 of the “Realistic section” into which a winner will aim at commercialization in 2012 – 2013, and the “Idealistic section” which hammers out the future design which gazed at the five-year back sections were prepared. For Grand Prix, the prize of 2 million yen besides a certificate of merit will be granted.
The representative director president of LG affiliated company in Japan explains that this competition had over 300 applications. It was described that ambition would like to make it the highest design award which can send the design to the world from Japan.
At the award ceremony, 20 designs which passed primary examination were introduced and the 11 final examination passage person group was elected from this group. The Eguchi nautical mile’s “FINESTRA” and Mr. Hiroshi Kato’s “Smart Care” were chosen as a Realistic section, and “Smart bee” was chosen as the gold prize of the prize of 500,000 yen as an Idealistic section.
