DoCoMo Reorganizes Chinese Operations
DoCoMo just announced they will expand the role of DOCOMO China Co., Ltd. to strengthen delivery of high-quality solutions, services and support and facilitate new growth in the fast-expanding Chinese mobile market. DOCOMO China, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Shanghai, will begin collecting data on mobile communications and exploring new business opportunities in China.
It will assume responsibility for these duties from the DOCOMO Shanghai Representative Office, which will be closed on March 31. The change is expected to strengthen organizational structure and raise operational efficiency. DOCOMO China already provides system and network solutions for mobile applications to corporate customers, especially locally based Japanese companies.
Last October the company began operating the “docomo Support Desk Shanghai” in the Shanghai World Financial Center to better serve DOCOMO customers travelling to China. The company also launched a service on March 13 to help Japanese-speaking customers apply to local mobile network operators for mobile phone services.
