  • DoubleClick Japan Buys Mobile ASP

    DoubleClick Japan recently announced they have aquired a domestic mobile CMS integration service provider, Mo-on, without releasing specific terms of the deal. Nextway Co. Ltd designed this ASP service, which provides a web browser-based system complete with various admin. tools, so small to medium sized companies could easily build and maintain new mobile website offerings. According to their press release, the division posted ¥526mln in sales FYE 2006 with ¥18mln profit and noted that the business transfer date is scheduled for October 1st, 2007.

    A quick surf through the Mo-on site [Japanese only] reveals the company had 2,300 customers as of June 2005 and they offer a so-called Basic package priced at ¥300,000 setup fee and ¥90,000 per month ongoing.

    The service offering includes everything from do-it-yourself home page and e-mail membership list management to shopping cart, stats tracking and even lottery functions. Customers can login and update their mobile site anytime and when saved the system will automatically format code suitable to serve on the wide library of Japanese handsets available.
