Japan Mobile Phone Shipments Up 19%
The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) announced that the number of mobile phones (cellular phones, in-car phones, and PHS products) shipped in Japan in June was 4,878,000 units, a 19.4% increase over the same month the previous year.
It has registered another year-on-year increase for eight straight months. The monthly shipment has exceeded 4 million for four consecutive months. The sum of cellular phones and in-car phones was 4,744,000 units, up 19.6% from the previous year, recording a year-on-year increase for nine consecutive months. Continue >>
