DoCoMo posts solid Q1 profit on 3G growth
Japan’s mobile phone giant NTT DoCoMo has reported a quarterly profit, helped by strong growth at its 3G service and solid per-user revenues, with no big overseas losses this time. DoCoMo earned 196.82 billion yen (US$1.64b) in group net profit in the first quarter to June 30 on sales of 1.25 trillion yen.
In the half-year to September 2002, DoCoMo eked out a net profit of just 4.17 billion yen after hefty special charges on overseas investments including its 16-percent stake in AT&T Wireless Services. Continue >>
