LINE Releases Healthy Q3 Results

LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, today announced their Q3 (July – September) earnings for 2014. LINE Corporation’s revenue for the quarter was JPY 23 billion, an increase of 16.6% over the previous quarter and a 82.9% increase over the same quarter in the previous year.
The revenue for LINE Corporation’s core business, LINE, totaled JPY 20.9 billion in the third quarter, a 17.7% increase over the previous quarter and a 104.2% increase over the same quarter in the previous year. LINE now has around 170 million monthly active users (MAU), with almost 87 million coming from LINE’s top 3 countries in terms of market share (Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand). The number of registered users has continued to steadily increase not only in Asia but in the European, South American, and U.S. markets as well, and LINE now boasts 11 total countries with over 10 million users, including over 10 million in Colombia, 25 million in the U.S., and 30 million in India.
