Data Science Carving Out the Future Society
Development and spread of information and communication technologies (ICT) have enabled advent of new types of information devices connecting the Internet, such as smart phones and wearable devices, and made it possible to accumulate digital information on events in the real world. Disclosure of enormous amount of data gathered at the central as well as local governments are growing in significance as “open data” used by individuals and private companies. For an effective approach to utilize huge amount of data or Big Data, ‘Data Science’ is now attracting active interest.
