Sharp Opens Smartphone E-Book Store
Sharp has launched an e-book store targeted at their 5 smartphone models with an estimated 24,000 titles on offer http://bit.ly/f4XSXiSharp said Wednesday that it has launched an e-book delivery service for its smartphones. The e-book store is for five models of Sharp-made smartphones, including the IS03 for the KDDI network. Currently, more than 1 million people use those handsets.
The service is similar to one offered on Sharp’s Galapagos tablet computer, released in December. To expand the customer base, the company has added a new function allowing users to make a trial read without registering.
Around 24,000 titles, including newspapers, magazines and books, are offered. The content can be accessed after downloading free software. Via the Nikkei.
