Fujitsu today announced that it has become the first mobile phone handset manufacturer in Japan to participate as a sponsor in the Wholesale Applications Community (WAC), a non-profit alliance of many of the world’s major corporations and organizations from the mobile phone industry that promotes the development and distribution of mobile phone applications.
WAC aims for the development of an open industry platform for the mobile phone applications market that users everywhere can benefit from, through the development of an open application development environment and by offering a diversity of applications that can be deployed across multiple devices.
