DoCoMo released disappointing 1H financial results FY2009, includes revision of full year forecast. PDF in English.

Financial overview shows negative YoY growth of between 5 and 15 percent across all sections, forcing a revision on the incumbent telcos projection FYE 2009 (march 31st 2010). Total handset sales of 8.81 millions units were down by 1.46 million from same period in fiscal 2008, however there is no mention about the alternative YoY increase of MID customers to offset the continued slide in device sales. Flat-rate data plans – Pake Hodai – rose to 47% of total subscriber base and shows increase of packet revenues, although this increase represents less than 1/3 of the loss in voice arpu. Their new BeeTV video platform hit 800k subs and i-Concierge now standing at 2.3M paid members. The only bright spot would seem to be the activity surrounding their new Tata operations in India.
