This press release [J] just came through from KDDI with news they have won a D&AD Yellow Pencil in the environmental design category for their PLY exhibition, see Mobile Marketing segment for more lucky winners. Also announced, the folks at Canne have awarded KDDI a shiny bronze Lion for their funky iida calling – mobile music generator – campaign, details on video Here. Sony Music grabbed some hardware for their very cool Pair Movie series, watch the video Here.
Surfing through the categories we managed to find a couple of first place awards for Japan-based offerings, however neither of which appear to have a mobile component. UniQlo won a Golden Lion award in the Cyber division for the Interactive Map campaign and KitKat certainly deserved the Media Lion Grand Prix for their unique approach by using Japan Post.
Back to D&AD awards, which also gave a nod the Pair Movie platform, we note the Ke-tai Traveler campaign for Honda. While interesting to be sure, what struck us was how much that was like the Mogi-Mogi platform – WWJ video here – circa 2004!
Maybe someday Canne will create one category dedicated entirely to mobile too..
