American Heritage for the iPhone
Tokyo-based Enfour Inc. and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company have announced the global rollout of the first iPhone and iPod Touch applications featuring the American Heritage dictionaries and other best-selling Houghton Mifflin Harcourt reference titles. This custom-built iPhone application features fully searchable and updated definitions, real-voice audio pronunciations, zoomable graphics, bookmarking, annotation and history.
The flagship title, The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, contains all of the nearly 300,000 terms from the 2,074-page, 7.5-pound dictionary and includes sound, numerous full-color photographs, drawings, and maps. It’s “the most comprehensive and technologically advanced dictionary available anywhere on any mobile platform and marks the first time an authoritative reference publisher has made its major works available on a mobile or handheld device.”
Congrats to the crew in Harajuku!
