Visto Joins Forces with IBM Lotus Domino
Visto has announced a new effort with IBM that will leverage Lotus Notes Traveler and help enable delivery of Visto’s Mobile for IBM Lotus Domino to millions of IBM Lotus Notes users. Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will collaborate on the enablement and marketing of a connector for Visto Mobile for Lotus Domino, providing customers with access to email, calendar appointments, contacts and other data pushed directly to their mobile phones.
“In an age of increasing mobile usage, providing flexibility and choice to customers is demanded to address the range of IT configurations that can be found in businesses of all sizes.” said Michael Rhodin, general manager, Lotus Software, IBM Software Group.
“This will be the first solution to allow mobile operators the benefit of provisioning Lotus Domino users without the need for a separate server installed behind the firewall. This will be a groundbreaking improvement over traditional approaches based on standalone server technology that Visto is excited to pioneer in conjunction with IBM.” said Brian Bogosian, president, chairman and CEO of Visto.
