  • ACCESS Powers Sharp 880SH for Vodafone

    ACCESS has announced that its NetFront Browser and NetFront Messaging Client are featured in the new Sharp 3G handset that Vodafone unveiled on September 10. The 880SH supports both W-CDMA and GSM and is compatible with HSDPA. The handset, developed mainly for the European market, was recently introduced as part of Vodafone’s Christmas 2007 lineup.

    “NetFront Browser enables mobile access to any Web site for PCs, as well as Vodafone’s Mobile TV service and its extensive menu of dramas, comedies, live news and sports, animation, music and other video programming,” said Toru Arakawa, ACCESS CEO, president and co-founder. “The browser has been installed throughout the world in more than 440 million devices, including handsets produced by Sony Ericsson, Samsung and other leading makers.”

    Vodafone announced a slew of new handsets last week including models from Nokia, the N95 8GB, Samsung, Blackberry, severla from each Sony Ericsson and Sagem. The company also introduced MusicStation, an exclusive music service from Omnifone, offering customers unlimited music downloads direct to the mobile from all the major record labels, as well as leading independents.
