  • Guinness Book of Records for i-mode?

    According to reports from local media, DoCoMo have applied to the Guinness Book of Records for its i-mode service as a result of the 70 million emails sent in one hour on New Year’s eve 2006. It is said that there has been no other instance when a single mobile Internet service provider has sent and received 70 million mails in one hour. 

    DoCoMo analyzed for diffusion with a high Internet connection type cellular phone and “Culture that uses mail as a New Year’s card” that is lately established to exist in the background that becomes with the mail processing performance as applied to Guinness Book by the i-mode service. It is assumed that it is an i-mode center that can process the i-mode mail of 25,000 a second by the support of it, and correspond to 50,000 Internet access a second.
