  • TEPCO, KDDI to Cooperate

    Tokyo Electric Power Co., Japan’s largest power company, has launched negotiations with telecom carrier KDDI Corp. for a possible capital tie-up or merger of their communications businesses, the Asahi Shimbun reported Tuesday. 

    The Japanese daily said the two companies are studying the possibility of the power company selling some of its equity stake in fixed-line communications subsidiary PoweredCom Inc. to KDDI, as well as jointly running a fiber-optic, broadband high-speed Internet service. Full story Here.
