Dilithium Networks' CTO to Speak at "3G in China" Global Summit 2004

Dilithium Networks, a leading provider of 3G video telephony solutions for the world’s mobile and broadband industries, announced today that Dr. Marwan Jabri, its founder and CTO, will speak at the “3G in China” Global Summit 2004. Dr. Jabri’s speech on “3G Video Telephony Services and Challenges” will take place between 12:00–12:30 on Wednesday 8th November at the Kempinski Hotel, Beijing, China.

In order to further accelerate the 3G industry in China as well as analyze and research this new trend, the Academy of Telecommunications Research under the Ministry of Information Industry will host two events in Beijing – ?3G in China? Global Summit 2004 and an Exhibition of the Latest 3G Terminals & System Equipments across the World. Centering on the theme of striding towards the 3G age and creating a powerful nation through telecommunications, ?3G in China? Global Summit 2004 will make an in-depth analysis of 3G field tests in China in terms of industrial policies, operations and technical issues.

?Dilithium Networks 3G-324M solutions are becoming the industry standard in the delivery of quality 3G videotelephony services. Mobile video telephony presents new challenges to equipment and tools vendors because they have to deal with problems unforeseen in voice telephony or legacy fixed network multimedia communication. Dilithium Networks is proud of its R&D investments which are paying off today with products that are unique in the market in delivering the best user experience and costs of ownership? said Dr. Jabri.

Dr. Jabri is one of the world?s leading authorities on multimedia communications protocols and systems including voice and video coding and transcoding, and multimedia quality of service over narrow and broadband networks. He has performed extensive research and development in the integration of media communications protocols and their implementation inside real time systems. Dr. Jabri served on the ITU group that initially developed the H.324 and H.324M standard. This standard is now the basis of the videotelephony standard that is being deployed in the 3G networks around the world. He currently holds the Gordon and Betty Moore Chair at the Oregon Health and Sciences University.
