Health Smart Cell Phones
Highly sophisticated cellular phones are also starting to care for their owners by warning them of their health problems or by keeping them safe in case of emergency. LG hooked up with Healthpia, the health-related venture start-up to churn out diabetes phones within a couple of months for the first time in the world. The new-concept phone is equipped with a microchip, which can measure the human body’s glucose, a sugar that comes from food, thus keeping the handset owners informed of their status.
The high-feature phone will also accumulate disease data and deliver them to a doctor, enabling the patients to get consultation and medication services without having to visit the hospital in person.
Other health-care phones in the waiting are diet phones and beauty phones which will be commercialized midway through this year by the LG-Healthpia alliance. Diet phones will contain devices which can gauge human-body fat while beauty phones will be incorporated with a massaging function as well as equipment to measure the skin humidity level.
