Vodafone K.K. announced today that from April 1, 2004 it will add a new menu option with links to third party portal sites on its Vodafone live! At the time of launch, customers will be able to easily access the portal sites of three major mobile portal operators – “infoseek mobile” (Rakuten Inc.), “excite mobile” (Excite Japan Co.,Ltd.), and “Keitai BIGLOBE” (NEC Corporation) – by following menus from the top page without having to input URLs.
Since these portal sites are open content and not Vodafone K.K.’s official content, each portal operator is able to offer services based on their own policy guidelines. As a result, Vodafone K.K. customers can experience the rich and varied contents of third party portal operators in addition to Vodafone live!official content.
With the enhanced portal functions of the Vodafone live! top page, customers can nowmore easily and conveniently access content that meets their needs. Before this enhancement, Vodafone K.K. previously renewed the Vodafone live! top page on March 1, 2004 by introducing a search engine and simplifying menus. Vodafone K.K. will strive further to make Vodafone live! more customer-oriented and easier to use. Press Release [.PDF] Here.
