  • Sony Ericsson Scales Back North American Operations

    Struggling mobile-phone maker Sony Ericsson unveiled plans to streamline its operations, saying it would reduce its presence in North America and shed around 12% of its staff.

    The company, a joint venture between Sweden’s Telefon AB LM Ericsson (ERICY) and Japan’s Sony Corp. (SNE), said it will phase out its North American CDMA phone operations and streamline its GSM/UMTS activities. CONTINUE
